 "June Flags" Wild River Iris
The wild iris bloom in profusion near the river and I never tire of painting them. Graceful and elegant, their delicate flowers range from lavender-blue to violet and the golden markings are dark or light. Early morning seems the best time to see the flowers at their best, but they grow in very marshy areas and more than once I have found myself sinking in the mire trying to reach them.
